Who doesn’t love a good, hearty brunch? It’s not quite lunch, and is usually eaten after a long sleep in, so what’s not to enjoy? I think brunch is pretty much my favourite meal of the day at weekends and when travelling, so I’ve made it a mission to explore some of the best places in the world to enjoy this meal, and let me tell you, it’s been pretty damn enjoyable doing all this research! Thanks to my stomach, I can share with you this list of my favourite cities in the world for Brunch!
Dubai
Having had brunch here a few years ago, and about to return, I would have to say that Dubai is my number one brunch city! It’s pretty much a Friday institution here, and all the top hotels put on a spread of champagne, cocktails, seafood, steak and pretty much any other food craving you could ever wish to indulge – ice cream bars, sushi, chocolate fountains, and even bands, petting zoo’s and cinemas – Dubai brunches really do set the bar high! My fave has to be Al Qasr – a trip to the city would be incomplete without a say here!
Copenhagen
Copenhagen seems to be kicking a lot of foodie related goals in recent years – especially now the city’s restaurant houses the San Pellgrino ‘Best Restaurant In The World’ title at their 3 Michelin starred restaurant Noma. But apart from this the city does a mean brunch at many of the modern eateries dotted around the city – think American pancakes, sausages and eggs but with a Scandinavian twist.
New York
This list would be illegal without the inclusion of New York! Whatever you fancy, you can get a truckload of it in the Big Apple – personally my favourite kind of NYC Brunch consists of lots of barbecues meat washed down with copious amounts of beer – This is the stuff American dreams are made of!
Melbourne
If you go to Melbourne for one thing, and one thing only, make it a long boozy lunch, and lots of great coffee. There are many achingly hip restaurants serving up great ‘Mod Aus’ food like corn fritters, berry pancakes and buckets of espresso – definitely a must for all the cool kids.
Hong Kong
Hong Kong nips at the heels of Dubai in the stake for most extravagant brunch, and often provide diners with ocean views, lots of delicious fresh fruits and cocktails – just the thing to forget about the night before with! And if that’s not enough, tuck into some amazing Asian buffets, as well as all the usual brunch fare such as seafood and steaks.
Bon appetit!

Dubai – interesting! I’ve never been there and don’t have much interest in going to be honest, but inevitably at some stage a trip back to Europe will involve a stopover there – at least now I know I can enjoy the brunches!
Thanks Amanda, you definitely should do a stopover there, if only for the brunch!
Some great suggestions Nicole. If I had to just pick one it would be dim sum in Hong Kong 🙂
Thanks Samuel! Yum…brunch is the best!
