This is one of my favorite shots of London…the magnificent Battersea Power Station in the background, the iconic red telephone box, and rain. What’s more London than that? What’s extra special about this photo though is the fact that both the phone box and the power station were designed by British architect Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, who also designed many other well-known buildings in the UK. This talent saw him go on to receive an Order of Merit for his contribution to culture and the arts and build other London icons such as the Tate Modern Gallery, a similar building to Battersea. I love that this exact spot where I took this photo is the only place you can see two of his designs at once, and I think you’ll agree, the best two at that.
