I recently watched a documentary about ghost sightings on the London Underground and found it absolutely fascinating – I’ve never been one to believe in the supernatural, but the many tube workers speaking of their experiences over the last 100 years certainly got me thinking.
There is apparently a man who walks the tunnels of Kennington since he has hit and killed by a train in the early 1900’s, he has been seen carrying an old lamp and one man even says he spoke to him. Sadly, I didn’t see the man when we went looking for him, but the station platform makes for a great photo nonetheless!

Great blog, first time visit, I love it! Will be check back often, bookmarked!
Can you offer any tips on where/ how to start (doing what you’re doing)? Looks like you’re living your dream but so confusing on how to get going for a ‘newbie’. Any tips much appreciated!
Keep up the good work, inspirational indeed as many others have said!
Love,
Sam
That’s a colourful tube station. If you only you captured a ghost 😛
Hi Sam, thanks so much, glad you like the blog, always nice to hear. My advice would be to research the hell out of all of your options for becoming location independent (eg what jobs could you do, start a business or blog?), find out what you are interested in doing long term – make sure it is the right thing for you as you’re going to need a lot of motivation for those long days and all the hard work! Once you are sure of what you want to do make a plan and contact others on the web – get on twitter and email people. Thats just a few things I can think of, but if you want to chat further just drop me an email via this site. Thanks again and good luck! : )
If only! Hopefully next time ; )
Great, thanks for the reply Nicole. I think on a very basic level, maybe naive level, I just want to travel, write and and photograph my visits. I just love being in new places and walking/ travelling around exploring, visiting and seeing. Am actually learning lots from your site and blog posts, have read lots and added lots to my reading list for later. Thanks, very useful, glad I found your blog, will take you up on your kind offer on emailing you once I’ve learnt a bit more!
All the best for now, please keep exploring and posting about it!
Sam
I love London, so anytime I see a story about it, I’m totally intrigued. A ghost in the underground?! how spooky! The last time we were in London we stayed around Kennington Station… I wonder if it was there then!
Hey Jade – you might just have seen him and never known?! Happy New Year! : )
Thanks Sam – that sounds like a great plan – the simpler the better I guess, as long as you are passionate (which you are) then you can definitely make it a reality – just keep going! Look forward to hearing from you soon – all the best with the research and have a fab new year! : )
