‘There is no passion to be found playing small – in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living’ ― Nelson Mandela
Have you always dreamt of a career change but you have been waiting for the ‘right time’…but it never comes?
Is there a job you’ve always thought you’d be perfect for, but you just can’t bring yourself to ‘take the risk’?
Are you waiting for the perfect time to go traveling/get fit/take up that hobby/start saving?
Always felt that something in your life just ‘wasn’t quite right’?
If any of the above sound familiar, then you have come to the right place!
Welcome to Woman Seeks World – Project: Life & the art of being the best you can be!
This site is about saying goodbye to past fear, negativity or doubt, and building the life for yourself that you have always aspired to – whether that is a career change, travel, getting fit or just discovering your passion.
I have spent the past few years trying to figure out what I am supposed to be doing with my life, and in the process I have learnt so much about happiness, creativity, money, passion and regret, that I want to share it with people who may be starting out on the same journey – and you may be surprised at some of the things I’ve discovered.
For one, I thought that a corporate ‘high-flying’ career would make me feel accomplished and secure, but all it’s really done is make me feel unfulfilled and bored. And all that money I thought I needed to earn to be happy, well that doesn’t mean anything unless you actually have the time and energy to enjoy it…and who has any of that when you’re working a mentally draining 60 hour week?
Of course, there’s nothing wrong with a corporate career or working long hours, but my point here is that this doesn’t have to be your only option – there are literally hundreds of things we could be doing with our lives, and it’s my job to inspire you to get out and do it!
So many people think that because they have studied in a certain area or put in a few years on the career ladder that they are stuck forever, unable to jump ship to pursue a new-found calling or passion. But you can! It’s silly to think that we are forced into making decisions about our whole working lives when we’re younger – I mean, what 17-year-old knows anything about what they’d like to be doing when they’re 40?! Not many – so start feeling like impossible just became possible.
If someone deposited $1 million into your bank account tonight, what would you want to do with yourself tomorrow? Is it the same as you would be doing anyway, or would you like it to change dramatically?
If it is, congratulations! If not, then you really do owe it to yourself to take a glaring view at your current career/life/situation and figure out how you can get from where you are now, to where you need to be in order to look back and feel extremely proud of your life.
We have a choice here, people – we’re adults, we can make decisions, and it’s OK. Whatever the reason that bought you to be reading this page is obviously an important one, so you owe it to yourself to start listening to what you want, and take action. Whatever that thing is, this site can help you to achieve it, and will support you every step of the way.
A lot of people are going to have financial, family or other commitments that they need to think about – but instead of seeing these things as a burden or excuse, use them as driving force to propel you to where you want to be. When there is a lot on the line, a persons drive for success is a lot greater, so embrace it.
I know that all of this can feel a little overwhelming at first – you may be asking ‘How the hell do I do X?‘ or ‘What do I need to know before I do Y‘…or you might just want some help discovering what it is that truly makes you happy – either way, below you will find a selection of articles to help you set off along a hopefully very beautiful and enlightening path to true happiness, and achieving whatever dreams you may have.
Just remember – if all else fails, just be honest with yourself, and if it doesn’t pass the ‘Will I be proud of this when I’m 80?’ test, then keep pushing yourself until it does!
